Vice-Chair/Chair-Elect Nominees

Bethany Stewart

Bethany McLemore Stewart is the Music Librarian at Baylor University, where she leads information literacy instruction and curriculum development for the School of Music and coordinates access and outreach for music special collections. She holds a doctorate and master’s in musicology from The University of Texas at Austin, and a bachelor’s in music from Abilene Christian University. Before joining Baylor Libraries, she taught in the schools of music at UT-Austin and Baylor and served as the Program Associate for the Oral History Association.

Leo Martin

Leo is the Head of Resource Management and Metadata at the University of Houston Libraries. Leo’s previous role at UHL was Resource Description Librarian for Unique Formats and Materials. Leo is currently serving a 5-year term as the SACO Music Funnel Coordinator (2022-2027). In this role he promotes and facilitates the creation of subject authority records for various Library of Congress controlled vocabularies related to the cataloging of music resources. Leo is an active member of the Music Library Association (MLA), Music OCLC Users Group (MOUG), and the Association of Recorded Sound Collections (ARSC). His research interests include metadata description & access, and the development of modern musical microgenres.

Megan Cooper

Megan Cooper is a graduate of Abilene Christian University, where she earned a Bachelor of Arts in Music and of the University of North Texas, where she earned a Master of Library Science, concentrated in Music Librarianship. In her undergraduate studies, Megan worked in the student assistant role as Band Librarian which sparked her interest in librarianship. She also studied clarinet and bass clarinet while at Abilene Christian and remaining an active musician is a priority for her. Megan is currently serving as the Music and Performing Arts Librarian at Prairie View A&M University.

Molly Roy

Molly Roy is the Performing Arts Liaison Librarian at the University of Texas at Austin, supporting music, theatre, and dance. She holds an MS in Information Studies and a PhD in Performance as Public Practice, both from UT Austin. Her research has been published in the journals Surveillance and Society and Liminalities: A Journal of Performance Studies, and she was a contributor to the Austin arts magazine Sightlines. Roy is a dance artist, choreographer, and dramaturg.
